Etsy Update.

I have finally updated all my scarf photos in my Etsy shop, so they have the more natural wooden background! I am so much more happy with them, I think they make the hand dyed colours pop more! You can check them out here. Each scarf now also comes in a paper envelope, with a care card to let you know all you need about your new scarf, perfect for gifts! What do you think?

Backgrounds.

I  have been playing around testing out photographing my scarves on a few different backgrounds lately, rather than just plain white, I actually really like the wood textures, I think it makes the fabric really stand out! What do you think, do you have some favourite textures to photograph against?
This scarf is available here and you can check out the rest of my shop here.

#MakeForGood 002.

The #MakeForGood campaign is such an awesome idea, I wanted to share another round of products from makers who are taking part! You can read about it more in my last post here or on the etsy blog.
Have you got some favourites to share? Let me know!

Lately.

1. Spring is here, nearly summer! I have been planting lots of flowers and tomatoes, and everything is starting to grow! My favourite season I think.

2. With the warmer weather I have been drying lots of my fabric outside, which makes everything quicker, and I have added lots to my Etsy shop, which you can check out here.

3. My cactus flowered! It only happens once a year, and I missed it last year, so pretty.

4. I went to a Spark event by The Jellyologist (Jessica Mentis) which was actually super inspiring, and tasty! Image from here.

#MakeForGood.

Etsy have launched an awesome campaign with Plan Australia called Make For Good. Designers and makers that take part, create items based around the theme 'silver linings for girls', and for every item sold, at least 20% of the sale price goes to Plan's 'Because I Am A Girl' campaign. This money goes towards helping girls around the world to get an education so that they can change the world around them for the better! Isn't that awesome?! You can read more about the aim of the campaign here. As soon as I heard about the campain I wanted to get involved, however unfortunately it is only open to Australian Etsy shops at the moment.

But that doesn't mean those of us outside Australia can't buy items from the collections, with money from each sale going towards the campaign! You can shop the whole collection here, and I have put together a little list of my favourites below. Let me know if you have any favourites, or if you are selling anything for the campaign!

Etsy Faves 05.

I love the tones in these marble planters by Sort London!

More planters! I love how cute the plants look sticking out of these spiky vases by Oli's Cupboard.

I've been really interested in all things mystical lately, palmistry, tarot cards, star charts, it's pretty fun! And this palmistry brooch by Misfit Makes is perfect!

And lastly, I love the graphic pattern on this shawl by Komana, and it's such a cute shape!

Have you found anything you love lately on Etsy? I'd love to see! And also feel free to check out my Etsy shop!

Life Lately.

I've been busy lately, but in a good way! Working part-time at my new(ish) job, testing out lots of textiles experiments to put new items in my Etsy shop, getting over-excited about the arrival of Spring, and watching a lot of random movies to keep me company doing textiles and creative things!

Had an evening trip to the beach, I love being so close to the sea, beaches definitely have something magical going on, I always feel amazing after a visit!

Visited Auckland Art Gallery, lots of new work being exhibited, some really random, and some super inspiring!

And lots of exciting textiles experiments, attempting not to get dye everywhere!

New to the shop.

I've finally gotten around to adding some new scarves to my Etsy shop. I popped a few silk cotton head scarves up, and also some wire headbands which I'm really excited about! You can play around with different styles a little more, as the wire helps to add a little bit of structure to them! Feel free to check them out here and let me know what you think.
