I have finally gotten around to listing some new head scarves in my Etsy shop! You can check them out here. I've been experimenting with some different had painting and dyeing methods, as well as different methods of resist, to create some hand drawn patterns! I've got some more ideas and things I want to try out, so hopefully there will be even more to see soon!

I came across Teresa Lim's work a while ago, I love finding new hand embroidery pieces, because I don't seem to see them much, and they are almost always awesome! Teresa's work is no exception, my favourite pieces are her Sew Wonderlust collection, where she created small hand embroidered landscapes whilst travelling around the world. Such amazing souvenirs! I've been wanting to create some kind of embroidery related to New Zealand for almost a year now, I started something last year, and seeing Teresa's collections has definitely inspired me to dig it out and have another go.
And how fun is her Sad Girls Club collection (last pic), I love the colours!
All images can be found on Teresa's website here and she also has an Instagram account for you to follow along with here, and a blog here.

I have been trying to squeeze in time between work to play about with making some new things for my Etsy shop! And I've also been spending some time looking at what other people are selling, there are so many awesome designers and makers out there, it's so great to see! If you want to be nosy you can see all of my favourites here. Have you found anything cool on Etsy recently?
I love the cut-out pattern of this moth necklace from BonnyRabbitBoutique, so delicate and beautiful!
I kinda feel like I can never have too many pouches and purses, and this block printed pretzel pouch from Whimsy Milieu is so fun and bright it would make a great extra to carry about my things in!
I have seen so many awesome pins and badges lately, including these super cute set of mountain badges from Okapi Illustration! I especially love the bear!
Winter evenings are also great for biscuits! And what better to put your snacks on than this biscuit bandit plate from Jimbob art?! He looks so cute and sneaky, I love the cape!

I'm still here! Still in Auckland! I have started working part-time at a homeware shop nearby which is pretty fun, it's cool to see what kind of things people are buying. Though been super busy working lots of hours lately, so not had lots of time for sewing and things! But I have still had some exciting stuff going on!
I have been making the most of the library and borrowing a ton of books! I love Celia Birtwell and have a few of her Uniqlo pieces so it was great to find out more about her and see more designs in this book. I didn't have time to read all of this book before it was due back, so I'll have to get it out again, but definitely a really interesting read, though kinda slow going! I have always been a huge fan of Lauren Child, and she has finally written some books for slightly older readers! Though the Ruby Redfort series is still technically for children it is awesome, and I'm already halfway though the second book now!
It is now pretty much winter here in the Southern Hemisphere, and the weather's always changing, going from blue skies to heavy rain about 5 times a day! But I've still been exploring a little bit, there's so many cute streets around here so always something new to see. This it a view of the city from a narrow little alley that leads to the motorway bridge!
Big excitement! I got a knitting machine on freecycle! The guy was even kind enough to drop it round and include an instruction manual, which has made things a little easier, though it is still super complicated! I'm about halfway to figuring it out, though I need to get some good quality wool that won't keep splitting!
I have been working on some new scarves and experimenting with a few different resist techniques, and hopefully will have some more to add to my Etsy shop soon!
I went to the Volcom School of Cool in Auckland the other week which was pretty awesome! There was some really cool artwork on display, and a great hand lettering workshop, some inspiring talks and lots of free food and goodies!

I finally finished my sketchbook that I bought with me from the UK over a year ago! Lots of black and white and playing with patterns lately, messing around with ideas to put onto textiles since I've been testing out lots of different resist techniques lately on fabric!
